What we’re thinking
technical training
We are planning monthly “How-I-Built-This” style presentations for high-impact science communication projects and campaigns. This will be an invited guest speaker from within or outside the League, who can inspire us all to imagine and, more importantly, implement the grand science communication projects of our dreams.
digital co-working
We are planning a weekly “SciComm Social Club” hangout, where people can chat and create live online in the company of other science communicators. Do you find yourself chattering alone to yourself late at night when you work on your scicomm projects? Not anymore! Also offers accountability for folks trying to make headway on projects. Banter welcome!
science art prompts
And of course, no creative community would be complete without monthly art prompts, that push you to create within the bounds of a single challenge or idea. You will be encouraged to share your art in the associated Discord channel, so we can all celebrate each other in this weird world of science translation. Prompts will be scientific and abstract — prepare your media weapons accordingly!
