Weiss-Lehman Lab | Animated film

Every organism has an innate drive to conquer the world, but ecological constraints provide limits on where a species can live. Here we explore what happens when humans take away some of those constraints and help species conquer new territory through “spatial spread.”

Client:

This title is a bit of a misnomer. The Weiss-Lehman Lab wasn’t a thing at the time of this project. Back then, it was just my labmate Topher and I collaborating on this short video in graduate school. This was actually Impact Media Lab’s very first gig (I believe we charged $100, paid in software 😂).

Goals:

The video offers a colorful introduction to ecological spatial spread, produced for the Evolution Outreach Committee at the University of Colorado at Boulder. This video was designed to supplement a teaching module on evolutionary concepts for high school students.
