The Project:


Client:

Dr. Nocco is a new faculty member at UC-Davis who is excited about building tools to engage researchers, students, and the grower community online. As an extension specialist, she wanted an interactive site that could help her learn about the needs of agricultural stakeholders and get their insight into water saving measures.

Goals:

Build a community-oriented website that acts as an extension tool. The website will be used to engage stakeholders and help Dr. Nocco recruit a diverse team of graduate students and collaborators. A secondary goal is to encourage people to see that extension work and applied research offer exciting career opportunities.

Dr. Nocco’s Conservation Irrigation Lab helps growers navigate the ever-changing terrain of sustainable agricultural practices and implement water saving measures that increase their profits. The brand for the website is energetic, warm, and grower-oriented, while still feeling academically rigorous and grounded in cutting-edge, quantitative research. The brand is inspired by the Hope punk and regenerative agriculture movements.
