Dr. Lauren’s Schmitz’s BioSocial Equity Lab explores the interplay between our social and cellular worlds. They study how social disadvantage erodes health at a molecular level and speeds up the aging process.
The Biosocial Equity Lab’s work is simply fascinating! It doesn’t take long before you are completely captivated by the way Lauren sees and investigates the world. Their work blends genomics, social justice, and history in ways we had never seen before.
Our goal with the Biosocial Equity Lab’s website was to immerse the viewer in the research, and make challenging concepts clear through strong visuals and layouts. The design is meant to be simple, intuitive, and compelling. Check it out!

The Biosocial Equity Lab’s brand is bold, compassionate, and driven to build a better world. It is anchored in a strong sense of justice and a passion for understanding how our biology impacts our lives. We wanted to capture that feeling with a cool, compelling look.
This brand was so much fun to develop! Ultimately, it was a collaboration between our team, the client, and even the client’s partner (a tattoo artist) who helped us push this design to the next level!
